Day 1: Beijing Capital Airport Pickup
Upon your arrival at the Beijing airport, your English-speaking tour guide will greet you and transport you to your hotel by private vehicle. Day 4: Hutong Rickshaw Tour - Beijing Zoo
A more relaxing day today starts with a 9:30 a.m. pickup at your hotel for a fun-filled tour of some of the ancient Beijing alleyways that have been home to Beijing residents for centuries. You will have the opportunity to visit with a local family and see a few historical sites before enjoying a nice lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a visit with the rare and intriguing Giant Pandas at the Beijing Zoo.
Day 5: Hotel Checkout - Depart from Beijing

Day 3: Badaling or Juyongguan Great Wall of China - The Summer Palace
An early start with a hotel pickup at 8 a.m. for a trip to the outskirts of Beijing to see the legendary Great Wall of China. After lunch (included) it is off to see the beautiful Summer Palace park (Yiheyuan) with its Longevity Hill, Kunming Lake, Stone Boat and numerous other historical structures - this place is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Breakfast at the hotel, lunch, all entrance fees and private transportation are included.
Day 4: Beijing to Chengde - The Imperial Summer Resort
We will help you check out of your hotel around 8 a.m. for an interesting 4-hour drive to Chengde, home of the Imperial Summer Resort. After checking into your 4-star hotel and a nice lunch, you will visit the enormous resort, built in 1703 and later enlarged to be bigger than the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace in Beijing combined - this place is big! You will be back at your hotel around 5:30 p.m. in time to find a nice place for dinner (not included).
Day 5: Lesser Potala Palace (Potaraka Doctrine Temple) - Chengde to Beijing
  
We will help you check out of your hotel at around 8:30 a.m. for a visit to the Temple of Potaraka, which was modeled on the Potala Palace in Lhasa and built between 1767 and 1771. After a nice lunch (included), we will drive you back to Beijing and help you check into your hotel room. You will have the evening free for dinner on your own or we can recommend some other activities for you.
Day 6: Beijing - Tianjin - Beijing
  
Hotel pickup at around 8:30 a.m. for the 90-mile, 2-hour drive to Tianjin. Tianjin is famous for its Food Street, featuring just about every type of cuisine from all over China. After lunch (included), you will have the opportunity to visit Culture Street, which is basically a rebuilt area that offers a plethora of souvenirs for sale - be sure to bargain hard! We will have you back to your hotel in Beijing in time for dinner for your last night here (not included) - we can take you to a fantastic and reasonably priced Beijing Duck restaurant if you would like.

It’s an even earlier start today with a 7:30 a.m. pickup at your hotel for a tour of Beijing’s ancient alleyways (hutongs) by rickshaw where you will see where Beijing residents have lived for centuries and have tea with a local hutong family in their home. We will then take you to the airport for your flight to Chongqing, where your English-speaking tour guide will meet you for a quick tour of Goose Neck Park and treat you to a local dinner of Chongqing cuisine before you board your 5-star cruise ship for the Yangtze River Cruise.

After lunch, we will take you to see the unforgettable and world-famous Terracotta Warriors where you will enjoy one of the world’s greatest treasures that has stood watch over the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang for 2,200 years. We will transport you to the Xian airport in time for your evening flight back to Beijing, where your English-speaking tour guide will pick you up by private vehicle to transfer you and help you check into your hotel.
Day 8: Mutianyu Great Wall of China - The Sacred Way - The Ming Tombs
8 or 8:30 a.m. pickup at your hotel for a visit to the Sacred Way and one of the Ming Tombs, then a visit to a spectacular section of the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu. There is also an optional cable car ride up for the less physically fit and a toboggan ride down for the more adventurous. From there, it is on to visit the final resting place of a more contemporary leader of China, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, who led the Republic of China after the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty, the last of the dynasties in China. A local lunch is included this afternoon, then in the evening you will be treated to a cruise along the Qinhuai River, which is not only historic but also beautifully lit at night, a perfect way to end your first day in Nanjing.
Day 4: Zhonghua City Gate - Yangtze River Bridge - Nanjing Museum
We will pick you up in the morning after breakfast at your hotel to take you to the ancient Zhonghua Gate, an interesting and crucial part of the walled defenses of Nanjing from the Ming Dynasty. Then you will have the opportunity to visit the Yangtze River Bridge, a historic and impressive achievement especially considering the unpredictability of the Yangtze River. Day 4: Morning Flight to Xian - Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Terracotta Warriors Your tour guide will pick you up early in the morning for your flight to Xian, where your English-speaking tour guide will pick you up by private vehicle for your tour of this historical ancient capital city of China. First, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a Buddhist temple with a history of almost 1,400 years. After a nice lunch of the local Xian cuisine, spend the afternoon with the legendary Terracotta Warriors, one of the most spectacular archeological findings ever uncovered.
Day 5: Xian Provincial History Museum - Xian City Wall - Grand Mosque - Flight to Taiyuan Today you can continue your exploration of this ancient city with a visit to the impressive Xian Provincial History Museum. Xian’s status as one of the most important cities throughout China’s history is reflected in some of the fantastic exhibits in this important museum. Afterwards, visit the Xian city wall, one of the few remaining complete city walls in China. That afternoon, visit the Grand Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque of Xian, which was first built during the Tang Dynasty (685 0 762 A.D.)
