#DT10: Peking Man Site (Zhoukoudian) - Marco Polo Bridge - Stone Flower Cave
 Although the actual skull has been lost to history, it is still interesting to view the former home of one of modern man’s earliest ancestors and the drive well outside of Beijing is interesting in showing just how large Beijing truly is. The Marco Polo Bridge may or may not have been crossed by the controversial traveler, but it has been in use for nearly 800 years and is well worth seeing. Stone Flower Cave is one of the largest in China and cool temperature-wise to visit year-round. #DT11: Simatai Great Wall (full day of exploring along the Great Wall of China)
 Simatai is one of the Great Wall’s most spectacular locations, with the Wall running along steep ridges that will have you wondering how they ever built the thing in the first place. Great views of ancient watchtowers and the surrounding countryside, but be prepared for a workout as some of the climbing is very steep and physically demanding. Vendors along the higher points of the Wall sell cold water and the coldest cans of beer you’ll ever find during the summer, well worth the 5 CNY / US$.75) per can (don’t forget to bargain.) There is also a cable car that takes you part of the way up to the Wall (60 CNY / US$9) and a “zipline” that can give you a thrilling ride hanging from a wire and flying over the reservoir back to the base point.
