Terms & Conditions

We do our absolute best to ensure the best possible customer experience from the first e-mail or telephone call until the tour is completed - and beyond. To ensure that everything involved with booking a tour with Beijing Discovery Tours is as transparent as possible, we have put together this list of important terms and conditions relevant to our tour services. Use of this website and the booking of any tour services with Beijing Discovery Tours is deemed as legal acceptance of the following basic terms and conditions regarding our company and its services:

Privacy

We will never rent, sell or otherwise use your personal information, including e-mail addresses, passport information, credit card information etc. for any purposes other than the organization of your tour services in China. We may ask you for your permission to use your comments on our tour services on the Guest Comments section of our website but you are under no obligation to give us that permission.

Reservations

Reservations for any of our tour services in China can be made by contacting us at info@beijingdiscoverytours.com. We do our best to response to all inquiries within 24 hours. We also have a voice mail number at (01) 800-306-1264 that we also strive to respond to within 24 hours, although worldwide time differences can extend the time necessary to answer phone calls in different time zones. It is usually easier to exchange information through e-mail, which can be answered regardless of the time zone.

Payments

We can accept most major credit and debit cards through the Paypal payment service. There is a 4% credit/debit card transaction fee for credit/debit card payments. We can also accept electronic funds or wire transfers to our U.S. or China bank accounts, although additional wire transfer fees may apply, depending upon the particular payment situation. Website prices are listed in Chinese Yuan (CNY) and U.S. dollars (USD), but final tour prices in all price quotations can only be guaranteed in CNY until payment is made due to possible changes in the CNY/USD exchange rate.

Contract for Tour Services

E-mail correspondence between Beijing Discovery Tours and the booking party shall serve as a binding legal contract between the two parties. Written documentation takes precedence over any oral statements presented by telephone or in person.

Tour Deposits

Generally, every tour requires a nonrefundable deposit payment of 30%, 50% or 100%, depending upon the circumstances regarding the particular tour services requested. These deposit payments are generally nonrefundable upon the postponement or cancellation of any tour services that have been booked and secured with a deposit payment, but we will work with our guests on an individual basis on any tour deposit refunds. Tours with flights or hotel rooms that have to be canceled or postponed will usually require deposit forfeitures due to the fact that airlines and hotels charge cancellation or rebooking penalties.

Tour Itineraries

We will do our absolute best to follow through with tour itineraries as they are booked, but sometimes circumstances outside of our control may cause us to have to alter tour plans. Flight cancellations, severe weather, governmental interventions, etc. may cause disruptions to tour plans, but we will always do our best to work with each of our guests to ensure a satisfactory outcome.

Tour Cancellations or Postponements

As noted above, tours canceled by the booking party generally result in the loss of the deposit payment to cover our expenditures. Weather cancellations are rare but can happen for ship arrivals in ports as well as flights, so we recommend buying a good full-coverage travel insurance policy to cover any possible travel interruptions or problems throughout your trip.

Beijing Discovery Tours shall not be liable for any loss, injury or damage to person or property in connection with climatic conditions, vehicle or ship fire, breakdown of machinery or equipment, acts of government or other state authorities, acts of war, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, terrorist activities, or any other actions, omissions or conditions beyond our control.
